With the local elections coming up, more and more people in Baton Rouge are seeing the importance of voting for the different District representatives, as well as mayor of our beloved city. Crowds of people are heading to the voting booths for Early Voting, that is November 26 until December 3rd. Then, others are expected to go to the voting booths on December 10th. With Bodi White and Sharon Weston Broome; candidates running for mayor, are making promises that so many people in the Baton Rouge area need to hear. Still though, there are more people who are trying to encourage others; mostly the 18-25 year old generation to go out there and make their voices heard.
A lot of people are also encouraging others to pay attention to the people running for office. “The person in council must be a person who has passion, because a person with passion with no strategy will fail.” Pastor Gregory Cooper of Antioch Full Gospel Baptist Church quoted saying about a candidate that he was voting for. “You need to know that your vote counts.” Courtney Scott, CEO of beBatonRouge; a digital platform for the Baton Rouge community, ”And that we need everyone out in the polls making sure that they cast their ballot.”
So on December 10th, remember to cast your vote for your district, for your community, and for your city.
